 Orphans who have been adopted

11.03.2008 Ira A. (8 y.o.) from Moscow was admitted to the Department of Nephrology for a medical examination.
27.03.2008 Ira was discharged from the Department of Nephrology after intensive treatment. She was in tears when leaving the hospital and parting with everybody here, but the invitation to come for the next consultation in three months consoled her a bit.
5.03.2008 Zina K. (14 y.o.) from the Tula region was admitted to the Department of Abdominal Surgery for urgent treatment. The girl is to have her surgery on March 6. She is nervous, of course, but mothers of other children from the same department support Zina and take care of her.
27.02.2008 Tanya S. (10 y.o.) from the Novgorod region has been admitted to the Department of Kidney Transplantation. The girl is accompanied by a nurse from her orphanage. She likes books and music. However, she is not too sociable now: hospital life is new for her, and she is feeling miserable.
25.04.2009 A few words about Tanya. She has been living at the Department of Kidney Transplantation since February 2008. She regularly receives dialysis and waits for a matching donor kidney. Nobody knows how long she will yet have to wait. However, Tanya is not depressed or bored. She is always ready to learn something new and interesting. She visits all art classes that our volunteers organize at the hospital church. When we were selecting the children's drawings and handiwork for the exhibition that is to take place at the end of May, it turned out that nearly one-half of works made during the last season are Tanya's. Besides, the girl reads a lot. This is largely due to Margarita, the nurse from Tanya's orphanage who takes care of the girl. This quiet and kind, yet exacting, woman has become a real mother for Tanya, and the girl even calls her 'mummy'. They come to our church together. When Tanya gets some tasty thing as a treat, she always asks, "Mummy, may I eat it now? OK, will I be allowed to eat it later?"
16.05.2009 After a year of waiting, Tanya has had her kidney transplantation at last. She is very brave and optimistic at present.
25.08.2009 Our Tanya, a nice girl so interested in drawing and needlework, has left the hospital after 1.5 years spent there. She has undergone kidney transplantation, and now the results of her tests are all right. She will come for a check-up in three months.
26.02.2008 Ruslan R. from the Orel region is seven months old. He has been admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery. The boy is accompanied by a nurse from his orphanage.
19.05.2008 Little Ruslan R. has spent less than 2 months at the hospital. He is a patient of the Thoracic Department. In general, he is recovering quite well. He is just unrecognizable: when we saw him first, he was sleepy, passive, and just never smiled. How he is a smart and energetic kid, always ready to move and to play. (His photo at present is on the right.)
Maxim M. Ivan M. 11.02.2008 Two brothers from the Tula region have been admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology. They are Ivan and Maxim M. Maxim (left photo) is trying to play the guitar, and he was happy to learn that volunteers give guitar lessons to hospital patients 4 times a week. And Vanya's favorite occupation is not quite typical for a boy: he loves embroidering. He does this work extremely quickly and accurately.
20.03.2008 Maxim and Ivan have been discharged from hospital. It was sad to part with these merry and kind boys. During their stay at the hospital, they visited all classes organized by our volunteers, be it guitar playing, singing, or handiwork. They left a lot of friends here. Our Foundation has bought medications for these boys; the amount must be sufficient for a year's long treatment course.
11.02.2008 A charming girl of two named Tanya K. has arrived at the Department of Traumatology. This girl is very active and emotional. She is to have a surgery. Tanya has been admitted from the Smolensk orphanage together with a boy of three Vasya P-v. Both kids are sociable and friendly. It is evident that they are surrounded with attention and care at their orphanage.
20.03.2008 Tanya was discharged after a thorough medical examination. She will arrive here for treatment a year later.
19.05.2008 Tanya has arrived for follow-up treatment. She is to have her surgery soon.
7.06.2008 Tanya has had an operation.
22.08.2008 Our beautiful Tanya has completed her treatment at the Department of Traumatology. Alas, this bright, tender, loving and charming girl will remain disabled to some extent... It is very important for her to live in a family!
11.02.2008 A new patient of the Department of Microvascular Surgery is Dima G. from the Ryazan region. Dima is a serious boy in his second school year. He receives mostly excellent grades at school and studies English. He is suffering from the consequences of a serious burn.
26.03.2008 After recovering from his operation, Dima went home. Dima is a lively and curious boy, always eager to study something together with volunteers. This is why he was reluctant to leave the hospital, although the postsurgical period was not easy for him. He was happy to tell us, however, that the next operation will take place a year later (the surgical treatment requires several stages).
29.01.2008 Alesha B. from the Dmitrov orphanage has arrived at the Department of Ophthalmology.
11.02.2008 Alesha has been discharged from hospital.
25.01.2008 Anya G. from Vladikavkaz has arrived at the Department of Ophthalmology for a consultation.
29.01.2008 Anya went home after her consultation.
25.01.2008 Two new children from the Dmitrov orphanage (Moscow region) have been admitted to the hospital: Natasha N. is at the Department of Neurosurgery, and Sasha K. is at the Department of Psychoneurology-1. Both children are nice and affectionate.
22.02.2008 Sasha has completed intensive therapy at the Department of Psychoneurology-1 and returned to his orphanage. Natasha is still at the hospital.
4.03.2008 Natasha has recovered after a neurosurgical operation and been discharged from hospital. The doctors are expecting her to arrive for follow-up treatment in six months.
18.01.2008 A tiny boy from the Ivanovo region named Denis R. was admitted to the Department of Urology for an examination.
22.02.2008 Little Denis is recovering after his surgery. Dr. Fuat Abdullaev, who heads the Department of Urology, has sent us a letter of thanks, saying that 50% of the surgical success is due to the attentive and kind care provided by our nurse Vera Kotova.
4.03.2008 Denis has been discharged from hospital. He became everybody's favorite during his stay at the hospital. In spite of the difficult beginning of his life, he develops even somewhat faster, not slower, than other kids of his age. He is only four months old, but he recognizes all his doctors and volunteers, attentively listens to people who talk to him, plays with his favorite toys and even tries to sit up. Denis is a real little man, patient and composed. He cried only after injections and quickly calmed down in his nurse's arms.
The doctors are expecting Denis to arrive for follow-up surgery in August.
18.01.2008 Two boys from the Belgorod region were admitted to the Department of Urology for an examination: they are Vanya A. (2 years old) and Vitalik K. (3 years old). Vanya is very serious, unwilling to talk to visitors, whereas Vitalik is extremely talkative and friendly, always ready to chat and even to dance.
25.01.2008 The boys have been discharged from hospital: Vanya A. after an examination and Vitalik K. after a surgery. Since Vitalik loves singing and dancing in public, a set of concert clothes was given to him as a present; here is a photo of the boy in this suit.
29.02.2008 Vanya A. has come back for a surgery.
4.03.2008 Vanya has had his surgery. He is already back at his department. He is now in much better spirits. He smiles more and gets interested in toys.
26.03.2008 Vanya has completely recovered after the surgery. He went home in fine condition. In half a year, he is to arrive at the hospital again for a check-up.
Zhenya V. Yulia Z. 20.11.2007 Instead of children who have already been discharged from hospital, there are two new patients from the town of Elatma, Ryazan region. Zhenya V. (6 y.o.) is at the Department of Ophthalmology; her surgery will take place on Thursday. Yulia Z. (7 y.o.) is at the Infectious Department.
8.12.2007 The girls from Elatma have been discharged. Nastya V. had a successful eye surgery, and Yulia Z. received treatment at the Infectious Department.
20.11.2007 At the Department of General Endocrinology, there is a new girl: Zhenya M. (4 years old) from the city of Cheboksary on the Volga. The kid is charming, sociable, and very smart, more intellectually developed than most other children of her age. She is accompanied by a nurse from her orphanage. The girl is everybody's favorite at her institution, and the staff sincerely hopes that she will find a new mother very soon.
19.12.2007 Charming little Zhenya has been discharged from the Department of Endocrinology.
20.11.2007 The kid admitted to the Department of General Endocrinology from the Sverdlovsk region is Zhenya O.. He is accompanied by a nurse. The boy, aged 2 years 4 months, is just irresistable and so active!

The girl admitted to the Department of Gynecology is Masha S., aged 8.
17.11.2007 Children from the Ryazan region have been discharged from hospital. Zhenya, Valya, and Nadya from the Department of Ophthalmology have undergone successful surgeries for strabismus. Masha has had a complete examination at the Department of Gynecology; fortunately, most of her diagnoses have not been confirmed. The girl will come to the hospital again a year later.
Zhenya Valya Nadya Masha
24.10.2007 Polina B., 7 months old, is from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskii. She has been admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery. The doctors have examined her and told us that the girl had arrived here in time: so far her development is normal for her age, and surgery is planned for next week.
16.11.2007 Polina has had her surgery. She has already left the hospital and will arrive for follow-up treatment in May 2008.
27.05.2008 Little Polina B., now 14 months old, accompanied by her nurse, arrived for a follow-up examination at the Department of Neurosurgery. The girl has grown up a lot. She tries to say something in her baby language and plays with her toys all the time. We even had to take away her toys to make her photograph, because otherwise she looks only at these toys.
15.07.2008 Polina has been discharged with improvement of her condition.
