Dear friends,
this is a letter of hope and a plea for help. I am the mother of a boy who has a terrible disease: Burkitt's lymphoma.
David, my son, is 12 years old, and he has been ill for over a year. Now he was admitted to the RCCH in a very grave condition. He urgently needs an expensive medicine called Ambisome. We have many children (five) and too little money to buy this medicine. All our friends and relatives gave their money, and that was sufficient for 10 vials of Ambisome, but this amount is too small for David's treatment. He needs 40 vials more, and each costs 247 USD. David hopes he will recover; he never doubts that he will get healthy again and come back home. He is very keen on football, has learned to play in the Moskovskii football club for 4 years, and hopes to become a real professional. He also likes drawing and can spend hours making a new picture.
And, although he feels very bad now, he is still sure that his illness will go away and everything will be just as before. For God's sake, help him survive and support us in our despair.
Susanna Khachatryan,
David's mother.
