My son, Zhenya Khovansky has been ill since birth. He has a constant cold, bronchitis and pneumonia. Up until Zhenya was 3 and a half the doctors could not
understand what was wrong with him. In 1998 we were sent to the RDKB for tests and treatment. It turned out that Zhenya has Initial Immunodeficiency and
chronic disease. Since may 2001 his condition has worsened, an abscess has appeared on his spine which has affected his rib cage. This disease
is very difficult to treat. An operation was performed in which three of his ribs were removed. Every morning Zhenya is in agony with pain, short of breath and
weak. When you see him like this your heart just breaks. Zhenya is now 6 and a half years old. He is the second child in our family. He is a very smart boy. He draws well, loves to sing the many songs that he knows, recites poetry and is learning to read. He is a very friendly child and has many friends. My son just wants to be healthy like all of his friends are. He is constantly in the hospital receiving medicine but unfortunately has to be treated at home. Right now Zhenya needs to start a course of therapy with the medicine Orugal. The dose he will need costs 24015 rubles. For us this is more than we can afford. Out of the four of us in the family only Zhenya's father is working. Many times we have appealed to the local government for help. Even with tears in our eyes and a strong will in our hearts we have been turned down.
