My name is Galina Kamardina. My daughter Kristina has been disabled since
birth, and she is eight now. She cannot walk by herself. When we got
to the Rehabilitation Department of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital
in 2003, it was the first time that we felt hope. Maybe some time
my girl will stand on her own legs. And now, after a long treatment,
Kristina needs an orthesis for learning to walk.
But I'll never be able to buy the orthetic device. I raise my girl all alone,
and we have no close relatives to help us. We live in a village, where
salaries are low. Also, Kristina has to go through four or five
rehabilitation courses each year, and so I cannot earn for our living
during these times. I thank everybody who wants to help us financially.
God bless you!

The doctor's comment
Patient Kristina Kamardina, born April 25, 1999. On the basis
of anamnestic data and the results of previous admissions to
hospital, we have decided that the child needs an orthopedic
appliance with fixation of ankle, knee, and hip joints for
continuation of rehabilitation and for learning the right
walking stereotype.
The appliance costs about 50,000 roubles (less than $2000).
