Misha is our very beloved child. He began to read very early and loved poems. He was busy all the time and helped me around the house. Since the age of 5 he has also been a great help to his grand father, who he is named after, working around the farm. He loves animals and taking care of them. Please don't get the impression that this is a perfect angel, he is like any child sometimes a little mischievous. Sometimes he would ride his bike and completely lose track of time or maybe run off to the lake without telling us for a day of fun.
Even after Misha underwent an operation to have the first tumor removed (he was diagnosed with cancer), he acted like any normal child. He is friends with half of the people who live in our town and received excellent grades in school.
Misha was in remission for two years and we had almost begun not to worry anymore. In February of this year we found another tumor. They began treatment for the cancer but during the treatment Misha kidneys were damaged. We were told that there was almost no chance that Misha would survive this time, but Misha remained strong. He fought the disease and we helped in any way that we could but the tumor and the cancer advanced very quickly. Many specialists said that there was nothing that could be done and it seemed hopeless. In spite of this on August 13 Th, Misha underwent an operation performed by Dr. Valentin Lebedev. The operation was a success. Misha was given an excellent prognosis, a 90% chance that he would beat the cancer. Even with this good news and new sense of hope Misha is still at great risk of not surviving due to the kidney failure. His kidneys are not working properly and he must undergo dialysis. This procedure is not cheap, it costs about $44 per month.
In the beginning when Misha became ill we received assistance at the RDKB from the charity in the name of Alexandr Men, they helped us to buy groceries. After this we received assistance for the dialysis from the Kaliningrad Government, but only for three weeks.
Misha now feels good and the results from the dialysis have improved. Still he needs to constantly go through dialysis since his kidneys are still not working properly. We can afford to pay for some of the costs for this, we are not poor, but we definitely can not afford to pay $1300 per month. We are now asking for your help, please help us. Only you can save our son.
