01.01.2004 We are sorry to inform you that Dima Kuzmin died in 2003
of an exacerbation of his illness.
22.05.2002 Dear friends of my son Dima Kuzmin!
Thank you very much for helping us in buying an oxygen
concentrator and for providing financial assistance to
my children. We would never manage to buy the concentrator
by ourselves; this is totally impossible for us. One can
hardly overestimate the importance and timeliness of
this present. Dima often has acute conditions in summer,
and breathing insufficiency develops. But now the boy
can have a normal breath! Dima was so glad to have
this present; he said that a concentrator is even
better than a TV set.
Blessed be the giving hand!
May God guard you.
Yours gratefully,
Lilia Mikhailovna Kuzmina
6.05.2002 Alexander transferred 2000 USD for
Dima Kuzmin. Many thanks! An oxygen concentrator
worth 66 766.14 roubles (ca. 2100 USD) was
bought for Dima. Irina handed 6000 roubles
to Dima's mother so that she could buy
a good nutrition for Dima.
23.04.2002 Vlad Vayngart transferred 100 USD
for Dima Kuzmin's treatment via the online
credit card system.
23.04.2002 Andrei von Bremzen transferred 100 USD
for Dima Kuzmin's treatment via the online credit
card system.

Good health to all of you!
I am Lilia Mikhailovna Kuzmina, and I am 29 years old. I have
two children: a daughter and a son. My son Dima is seven now,
and he has been suffering from mucoviscidosis since he was
four months old. It took a long time to determine the diagnosis;
the doctors at the regional hospital treated him for chronic
pneumonia, and it was only a year ago that we arrived in Moscow,
at RCCH. And here we learned that Dima has mucoviscidosis. Dima
did not yet know his diagnosis but felt that he was suffering
from some terrible disease. During a crisis, he is endlessly
coughing, up to vomiting, and cannot even sleep at night because
of this cough. Our local doctors cannot help Dima; the local
hospital does not even have the necessary antibiotics. When
his condition becomes acute, he becomes thin up to emaciation,
really terrible to look at.
However, when Dima feels better, he is interested in everything
and keen on learning everything: what? how? where? why? He is
a little day-dreamer; he loves animals and dreams of arranging
a real zoo at home. He also likes drawing and listening to
book reading. But his right lung is virtually failing him
because of this illness, and he cannot breathe well. The only
thing that can help him is a special oxygen concentrator.
It costs more than 3000 USD.
So it happened that I bring up my children alone, my husband
is divorced from me and does not provide any help at all.
I am working as a janitor at a boarding school and receive
a monthly salary of only 800 roubles (ca. 25 USD). Even
if we add Dima's pension to it, we will not manage
to raise the money sufficient to buy a concentrator.
I pray that somebody will feel our pain and help us buy
the oxygen concentrator for my son.
