I am Valentina Shaptala. My grandson Alexander (Sasha)
Mogir is only five years old. Sasha's mother raises him all by herself,
because her husband has left them. Presently I am together with Sasha
at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital, Department of Rehabilitation.
I have to be near Sasha all the time, because he cannot walk. For normal
movement and development, he needs ortheses, which cost about 80,000
roubles (about $3300). Our family cannot raise such a sum. Sasha is
disabled, and I cannot get a job, because I have to stay with him all the time.
We have only his pension, which is 3200 roubles (about $130) per month.

Patient Alexander Mogir, born 2002, needs a
Dospekhi (Armor) orthopedic system with fixation of ankle,
knee, and hip joints and fixation of spinal column up to armpits
for continuation of rehabilitation treatment and for learning
the right standing and walking stereotype.
