The first one is hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells), and the second one is combined sepsis. To stop the hemolysis, his immunity must be suppressed, because otherwise the boy will die. But suppressed immunity promotes the development of various infections, which, in turn, stimulate the autoimmune complication (hemolysis). And the doctors have to fight for the boy's life within this vicious circle. Against hemolysis, Vadik receives Mabtera bought with your help, and presently the hemolysis has lessened a little. I, the mother of Vadim Nikitin, write this letter
in hope that you will be able to help us in our trouble. Vadim, my son, was born on November 9, 2001, so he is 2 years 2 months old. His diagnosis is primary immunodeficiency, Wiscott-Aldrich syndrome. I lost my first baby nine years ago. It was a terrible shock, but then I was given another chance to become a mother. For my husband and for myself, Vadim's birth was a very long-awaited and happy event. We love our son with all our hearts and try to give him all we can: our love, tenderness, warmth... But, alas, this is not enough. Our disease requires treatment with expensive medicines, which we just cannot buy. And there is nobody else to help us. Our close relatives have only their old-age pensions, and I cannot find a job since Vadim is seriously ill and requires care. My husband's salary is more than scanty.
