19.11.2008 In view of the grave situation due to interrupted budgetary supply of some medications to our hospital, Deputy Head Physician A.A. Bologov and Head of the Department of Kidney Transplantation A.L. Valov have asked our foundation for urgent help in purchase of Sandimmun Neoral, Prograf, Myfortic and CellCept.
Our hopes that these medications would be delivered to the hospital by the beginning of December have failed. The necessary monthly amount of the drugs costs 1,037,000 roubles ($37,310) .
Eleven patients of the Department of Kidney Transplantation vitally need these drugs: Edik Kintsev, Zhanna Khodorovskaya, Valya Minakova, Nina Sidorova, Sasha Lapina, Olya Plekhanova, Yulia Akhatova, Denis Val'kov, Shamil Dolgatov and Nadya Nesterenko. All these children have recently had their transplant, and now they need Sandimmun Neoral, Prograf and Myfortic for engraftment. All these children had spent a long time waiting for a donor kidney: Nina Sidorova had waited for three years; Sasha Lapina and Olya Plekhanova, for over a year...

The mother of Artem Shemetulskii has also asked for help in buying immunosuppressive drugs:
"My son had kidney transplantation almost a year ago. But we had to return to the hospital because graft rejection has begun. In this critical situation, the doctors have prescribed Prograf. We still hope that the process is reversible, that the kidney can be saved somehow and my son will yet have a normal life. But this is impossible without your help, because the required drug is lacking at the hospital. We rely on your understanding and compassion."

In addition, all patients of our department who are now preparing for discharge from hospital need these drugs in amounts sufficient for two weeks, because, after their return home, they will need at least two weeks to start receiving these drugs at their place of residence at the expense of the budget.
If the necessary drugs are not supplied, the transplantologists' efforts will be in vain and the lives of the children will be in danger.
