Dear friends,
I want to share my trouble with you. Maybe there is somebody who will not
stay indifferent to our family's situation. Katya, my daughter (she is 12
now), suddenly fell ill three years ago. The doctors in Tyumen, our town,
could not diagnose the disease for two years, and Katya was simply perishing
in front of my eyes. It is awful to feel so helpless when your child looks
at you with hope but you don't know how to help.
After she was examined at the RCCH in 2002, we learned the diagnosis: nonspecific
ulcerative colitis. The treatment is long and expensive. Now we are at the
RCCH again, Katya is lying under a dropper, and I can't stop worrying, because
my two-year-old daughter is in Tyumen with her dad. But he broke his leg,
and it is difficult for him to take care of a tiny toddler all by himself.
And our granny, on whose help I counted, unexpectedly broke her right arm.
Had it not happened to me in reality, I would hardly believe that the events
could really turn this way. Moreover, my husband's mother died the very
day Katya and I arrived at the hospital.
Probably it is not necessary to describe our moral and financial state.
To cure the exacerbation of Katya's disease, we urgently need Salofalk in
suppositories and enemas. The treatment will last no less than 2 months.
I cannot buy such an expensive medicine myself. But maybe somebody will
respond to our trouble.
Thank you very much.
Natalia Shakhmuradova,
town of Tyumen
