Nastya Zhuravleva

I am the mother of Nastya Zhuravleva, who is 8 years old now. She fell ill in December 2003, and it turned out that she had a serious autoimmune disease: juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. She has been getting treatment at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital for 5 years, but, in spite of immunosuppressive therapy, there is no improvement. Her disease is extremely aggressive and becomes increasingly active. The physicians have decided that Nastya needs Orencia. It is a very expensive drug. The treatment course for the next month (two vials) costs 100,000 roubles (about $3300).

We are from Adler (Sochi). I raise my daughter all alone, and presently our only source of income is her disability pension. Please help us buy this drug, which is vitally necessary for her.

We are asking for financial aid in purchase of Orencia (abatacept) for Nastya Zhuravleva, 8 years old, patient of the Department of Clinical Immunology. Diagnosis: juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic form, with multiple recurrences. One vial of this drug contains 250 mg of active substance. The child will need 2 vials for the first month of therapy, and then one vial per month.
